Description:
This is a highly engraved Walther pistol made in the second year of production at a time when the Sturmabteilung was critically important to the rise of the Nazi's. This gun has a two piece firing pin and appears to be about unfired. I don't know for sure when the engraving work was done but it was done by hand and is first class work. It appears consistent with other engraving patterns seen in the book Engraved Walther Pistols (a copy will come with this gun). The cost of the engraving work would be thosands of dollars today. The Nazi party did purchase presentation pistols before coming to power in 1933 and those were paid for by the party or in this case the Sturmabteilung. I have a letter from the prior owner who says it came from a widow whose husband was involved in the Nurenburg trials. A copy will be made available if you are interested.
