This is an undated rifle that retains 80-85% of the wartime black Suncorite finish, with dull gray metal and plum-brown patina where the finish has flaked off. Matching numbers are also present on the bolt, magazine, and underside of the forend, and a Mk. II sheet-metal sight is installed. The wood is in good-very good shape with numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes throughout, as well as a crisp “ZF" stamp on the right side of the buttstock (signifying “Beyond Local Repair"). The rifle has a rear sling swivel, but no forward swivel is currently fitted. This is a good looking No. 4 rifle, and rates about very good condition overall. Rifle has not been test fired and should be looked at by a gunsmith before doing so. It is possible the "ZF" marked buttstock was taken reused from another gun.
