The Colt Open Top was made from 1871 to 1877, with approximately 114,200 manufactured. The 7-shot revolvers were fitted with either a 2 3/8 of 2 7/8 inch barrel, varnished walnut grips, with or with-out integral ejector, variety of finishes, and chambered in .22 Short or Long. This Open Top is as described and uis fitted with a 2 3/8 inch barrel, nickel finished, and chambered in .22 Long. This 1875 vintage Open Top Colt is a nice looking example of its type, with a decent bore, with visible rifling, and a perfectly functioning action.
