1850s Antique BELT HOOK Deringer Type Pistol
ENGRAVED Self Defense Belt Pistol!
Here we present an antique Deringer Type Percussion Belt Pistol, made circa the 1850s. This single shot pistol would have fired a .32 caliber ball and was intended for self-defense. One could easily hook this to their belt. It is not an unattractive pistol either, with its German silver accents and engraved hardware. The top of the barrel reads “FINE TWIST”. The pommel cap bears a percussion cap trap with a seashell type of engraving. The trigger guard, lock, hammer, and barrel tang bear floral scrolls.
The overall condition is good. The iron parts are gray with age and use. The markings are clear. The stock has been repaired at the grip. The bore is in good shape with nice rifling. The action is excellent, strong and crisp.
