REDUCED - REDUCED - This is a very nicely done .45-70 Custom Rifle by Jerry Tauscher circa 1960's. Barrel bears the Tauscher Rifle Barrel Marking as made and sold by Federal Firearms in Pennsylvania. Stock is beautiful figured walnut with superb checkering with carved borders, and a Neidner type checkered buttplate. Action is from a Japanese Type 99 bolt action (a wonderful choice for the .45-70 cartridge), and is equipped with an early Williams Receiver Sight. All metal is a high polish heat blue - almost perfect except for a few tiny spots on the barrel which are hardly noticeable. A wonderful rifle from a known post war maker that is still in business today (I believe 3rd generation business from the late 1950's). Bore and chamber are excellent in the 26 inch barrel.
