Description:
This Gamba double barrel 20 gauge shotgun was bought in 2003 and still looks new. It has 27" inch barrels that have 2.75" inch chambers with a solid rib, and is choked "Improved Cylinder" and "Improved Modified". The profusely engraved receiver has fine scroll and floral work on every side and is color case-hardened and beautiful. The hand checkered Walnut stock set has an "English" straight grip and a factory-installed recoil pad, with the length of pull measuring 14 & 3/8ths inches to the end of the pad. The drop on this fine shotgun measures 1.5" inches at the comb and 2.5" inches at the heel. This Gamba Principessa has automatic ejectors, a non-automatic safety, and a single non-selectable trigger. This Italian shotgun is very well balanced with a total weight of 6 pounds and 2 ounces. As mentioned before, this shotgun is in excellent condition and looks like it has spent most of it's life in a safe or gun cabinet. Both the factory blue finish on the barrels and the color case-hardened finish on the receiver rates 98% to 99%. The bores in both barrels are pristine, free from any pitting, dents, bulges, or imperfections of any kind. The action locks up perfectly "on face" and tight, and all of the controls on this Gamba are in perfect working order. This Gamba would be an excellent choice for someone wanting a classy double barrel to take afield that they can be proud of without spending many thousands of dollars. Priced at $1895, it would be extremely hard to find a better quality or more attractive double for less, much less an Italian made gun.
