Here is a 1 of 1000 Browning B78 single shot Bicentennial rifle in .45-70 Gvt. caliber. This rifle is a piece of art in it's own right with beautifully figured wood in a high gloss with fine hand checkering. The rifle has a Schnabel front grip and straight stock. The wood is finished in a deep high gloss finish. It has a 23 inch octagonal barrel with a blade front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. The rifle features finely detailed floral scroll engraving at the muzzle on all of the flats but the top. The left side of the barrel is marked "manufactured in Japan, finished in Belgium. The front of the barrel has floral sroll engraving and The breech end of the barrel features more floral scroll engraving. The coin finished receiver features highly detailed animal scenes of an American bison on the right in a plains scene and an American bald eagle standing on a branch on the left. Both scenes feature circular punch borders and are surrounded by more floral scroll. The lever is similarly engraved. The right side scene is signed by Browning master engraver R. Dewil. The rifle has an engraved blue crescent buttplate. Includes a hardwood display case with a fitted red velour interior, .999 silver bicentennial medallion, an etched Browning fixed blade knife numbered to the gun, and original paperwork. This gun hasn't been fired and is new in every respect. This fine rifle should be a part of every Browning collector's collection. The wood case is Western Alder with brass corners, a brass plaque denoting the rifle and brass locks with keys.
