This Martial Colt 1861 Navy is scarce on its own but when you can find a documented example to a soldier, it takes it up a notch. There is faint cartouches visible on the grip. a repair to the right grip toe. Mechanically excellent. Overall the finish has faded to a beautiful untouched patina. Private Neely or Nelly served in Co. L 13th Illinois Volunteer Cavalry, He enlisted December 21, 1863 at Benton Barrack, Missouri. Pvt. Nelly is listed having deserted on Feb. 1, 1864. Although he did not serve long, this is still an incredible and documented example! Shipping is $20 plus actual insurance
