Description:
SOLD..Very fine antique 1894 Winchester. Caliber is the 32-40. S/N 94567 !!! Kinda neat.. By BATF and Madis it is an antique 94. Cody work sheet checks out correct 32-40. This is another way above average rifle I have for sale. Has the standard 26" octagon barrel. The bore is excellent. Mostly mirror bright and shiny with just very minor frosting that will probably clean out to near mint... VERY nice way above average bore indeed. I have not had a chance to test fire this gun yet but will before it sells. I am sure it shoots like a new gun.. It functions perfectly. Both hammer notches are excellent and positive. The barrel has quite a bit of original bright blue. I would say 75% blue just thinning out on the edges. One small ding on the left side back from the front sight {see photo}  The receiver has just small traces remaining in the protected areas and some on the bottom around the trigger and lever block.. Still has the early heart shaped knurled hammer... The wood is very nice but has an issue with the forearm as you can see. The forearm fits tight, full and proud to the metal. No splits or cracks but has the word DAD scratched in at the bottom by the receiver ????? It is not very deep at all but it is there.. Who knows what this is all about.  Initials maybe. Who cares. You can make up your own story... The butt stock is perfect with no splits or cracks and no MOM on it !!!!  HA HA... Fits perfect and full with nothing being sanded, cleaned on or undersized.. Very nice color and not oil soaked or darkened. The wood shows very few dings and scratches. If you had another forearm it would probably "help" this gun out but I will not mess with it. The screws heads show very little turning and nothing burred up. Most still have 100 years of dried up grease in them. Both original front and rear sights never messed with. The lever has traces of case colors up next to the receiver. This is a very nice and clean ole 94 but the exceptions of the forearm !!! It is what it is folks and I have it priced with this in mind. I really like this gun and I bet it shoots like new. It will be test fired this week. I just have to hand load up some 32-40 but I have a few customers wanting to see this gun so I am listing it now for you all to see. About all I can say on this one. It is a very nice looking gun for the money and a sceamer bore for shooting and still a very collectible gun as well.. Much better than the gray brown ones you see priced for $1000 to $1200.... This is a bargain... $50 insured shipping. Call me at 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. Check back often as I have more nice guns to get listed soon and thank you for stopping by to see my items.
