Description:
This factory engraved, Model 1862 Pocket Navy, is a Type 4, and was manufactured about 1875. It was probably engraved in Gustave Young's shop. It is engraved in the vine scroll style and has his signature "birds head" on the left barrel lug. It is chambered for the .38 rimfire cartridge, has a 4 1/2 inch barrel, and is fitted with beautiful burl walnut one piece grips. The serial number 2044 is clearly stamped with the letter "E", for engraved. The gun retains at least 90% of its original nickel finish since conversion, about 50% of the stagecoach hold-up scenen on the cylinder, and it is all numbers matching.
