Description:
This is a best quality, fixed lock 375 H&H ejector double rifle built by Westley in 1951 (#18823) to handle the Holland Rimless Belted cartridge. As such, it features all the traditional "Best Westley" features, such as their hidden third bite top lever, their gracefully scalloped action and their wonderful flip over moon sight. This rifle remains in exceptional condition, having been used during its entire lifetime only for driven game on the Continent. The bores of it 24" barrels are as new and it has a 14 1/2" length of pull. Altogether it weighs 10 and a half lbs without it's scope and 12 lbs with it. The scope is a modern Swarovski Z6 in 1 X 5 power, that we fitted to the original claw mount bases to bring the rifle up to date and make it ready for its next 50 years of hunting. Proofed for the heavier 300 grain load, it shoots equally well with 270 grains. Either way, whether for driven game in Europe, brown bear in Alaska or Kamchatka, or lion and buffalo in Africa it is ready for its next adventure. Are you?
