We normally ship USPS Priority Mail which should be 2-day ship. Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. Description:
The Model 61 is considered by many to be the finest .22 pump action rifle ever built. It was introduced in 1932 as a successor to the Model 1906, itself a development of the original Model 1890. The Model 61 saw a switch from the exposed hammer of the Models 1890 and 1906 to an internal hammer configuration. Like those two rifles, the Model 61 ejects spent cases to the side. The Model 61 is often considered a companion to the Model 12 and Model 42 pump action shotguns given the similar method of operation and the use of an internal hammer. This Model 61 is in good shape considering its age. There is a small amount of pitting on the bolt on the right side and a small bit on the left side of the receiver. The one notable issue with respect to condition is the left side of the barrel. At some point, a previous owner had his SSN added onto the barrel, but a later owner had this removed. Fortunately, the original Winchester markings above it are intact. The result of the work done can be seen in the pictures above (Update 11/18/19: The gunsmith has apllied a touch up blue to the barrel. The pictures have been changed to correct this.). Mechanically the rifle is in excellent condition and with a very good bore. The elevator (toothed bar that the rear normally sits on) has been removed from the rear sight but could easily be replaced. It is the same one used on just about every lever action rifle Winchester ever offered. The rifle has been equipped with a scope base, rings, and a Bushnell Sportview 3-9x32mm scope. This Model 61 would make an excellent squirrel rifle.
