Description:
Weatherby's Vanguard Sporter Model rifles are guaranteed to shoot a 3-shot group of less than 1 MOA when used with Weatherby factory or premium ammunition, and have proven themselves to be excellent rifles across the board.  Manufactured from 2005 to 2011, the Weatherby Vanguard Sporter action incorporates a slick one-piece fluted bolt body with 3 gas ports to protect the shooter in the event of a case rupture, and have a one-piece machined receiver featuring an integral recoil lug for extreme strength and durability.  The 2-position safety is mounted at the right rear of the bolt, and the Vanguard comes with a superb factory-installed adjustable single-stage trigger. The triggerguard and magazine housing are a solid 1-piece design, and the hinged floorplate allows you to dump the magazine load with ease. This Vanguard Sporter model has a beautiful checkered Monte Carlo style stock with a cheekpiece that is made of "A" grade Turkish Walnut with a satin finish, and features a Rosewood forend cap and a factory-installed recoil pad. This Weatherby is chambered in the flat-shooting and powerful .25-06 Remington cartridge and has a 24" inch barrel.  Bought new by the original owner, this Vanguard Sporter was put into storage and never fired.  It would be a flat-mint rifle if not for some tiny little speckles in the blue finish on the barrel from humidity issues in the gun room, and a few tiny dings in the wood from storage in an overcrowded safe.  As you can see from the pictures, neither of these "deductions" take away from the extremely clean overall look of the rifle.  The factory blue finish rates 98%, with the only deductions coming from some tiny little speckles on the barrel that are only visible under close inspection.  The bore is mirror-bright and flat-mint with perfect sharp rifling and no pitting, erosion, or visible imperfections of any kind.  The black finish on the alloy triggerguard and floorplate rates a perfect 100%.  The original factory stock is beautiful on this Weatherby, with graceful lines, nicely checkered panels on the wrist and forearm, and a very pleasing satin/semi-gloss finish.  The wood shows some very minor storage marks but nothing that would qualify as an eyesore or that attracts your eye.  The worst safe dings are on the right side of the stock, with a ding in the wrist checkering, a ding in the forearm checkering, and a small scrape on the lower right front of the Rosewood forend tip.  There is a close-up picture provided of each of these three spots (the last 3 pictures).  The stock comes with a perfectly-fit factory Weatherby recoil pad and factory-installed sling swivel studs.  As mentioned before, this rifle is in perfect working order and unfired with pristine internals.  All of the controls are crisp and the trigger is excellent, breaking with a light pull without any grit or slop, and the receiver has never had optics mounted on it before.  The original factory plug screws are still in place.  The action feels slick and precise, and locks up perfectly with minimal effort.  The quality of this rifle can really be felt and appreciated when you have it in your hands.  If you have been looking for a new deer rifle for the upcoming season here is your chance to get a top-quality rifle in nearly-new and unfired condition for a great "used rifle" price.
