We normally ship USPS Priority Mail which should be 2-day ship. Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. Shipping insurance is available upon request for an extra fee. We cannot do international sales. As of November 2019, we no longer ship guns to California and Hawaii.

The Lightweight Commander was developed in response to complaints from users of the original Colt 1911A1 about the heavy weight of the pistol (when loaded) and the difficulty of carrying that much weight on a regular basis as well as the difficulty of trying to conceal carry a pistol of that size. The Lightweight Commander is otherwise identical to the 1911A1, except it has a shorter 4.25” long barrel and it uses an aluminum frame. This gives it a weight of approximately 1.72 pounds. The pistol was produced between 1949 and 1970 as the Colt Commander, and in 1970, its name was changed to Light Weight Commander due to the introduction of the steel-framed Combat Commander that same year. The pistol shown above left the factory in 1989, according to the Colt Serial Number Database. It has a blued finish which is in roughly 98-99 percent condition. There is a small nick on the front of the grip. The bore is very clean. The wood grips are in fantastic shape. Please see the pictures above. This 1911 would make a nice addition to any 1911/Colt collection.
