1950s COLD WAR H&R M1 GARAND Infantry Rifle .30-06
"the greatest battle implement ever devised"
Here we present a Harrington & Richardson U.S. M1 Garand Rifle, manufactured circa the 1950s in Worcester, Massachusetts. This .30 caliber semi-automatic rifle was that standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War. Most were issued to U.S. forces, though some were also provided as foreign aid to American allies. To say that it was and is highly regarded would be an understatement. In the words of General Patton, “In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.”
The stock features a Department of Defense acceptance stamp of an eagle with 3 stars on the left side. Circle “P” is located on the pistol grip. There is also a painted rack number of “48” on the bottom of the grip. The barrel is proof marked and dated November of 1953.
The overall condition is very good plus. The Parkerized finish is 95%. The markings are clear and legible. The stock is in good shape with signs of normal handling. The bore is near fine, clean and bright with sharp rifling. The action is excellent.
