Description:
Perhaps the nicest of all the L.C. Smith guns is the Crown Grade. It is artistically pleasing and not overdressed in gold like some of the higher grade guns. This particular gun is easily one of the finest, if not the single finest Crown Grade I have ever seen. It is beautiful, all original and graceful.

The gun is a Featherweight Frame Crown Grade 20ga with original 28" barrels. It was shipped in 1922 to Abercrombie and Fitch and has it's original A&F Hang tag still with it! The gun was made with 2-3/4" chambers, splinter forend with engraved roll type release, capped pistol grip buttstock, Hunter One SST, and original buttplate. It is engraved in a typical relief game scene pattern as is found on most Crown grades. Stocks are 14" LOP with drops of 1-1/2" and 3" DAH. Both barrels measure exactly .615 with .018 choke in the right and .030 choke in the left. The quality of the wood on this gun is stunning and the natural color and fire in the wood is to die for!

Accompanying the gun is its original A&F hang tag which confirms the gun exactly as found today. This is really a very "virgin" L.C. Smith and has been used very little. The gun is confirmed by a LCSCA letter as well identifying it as found today.

Overall the gun remains in exceptional original condition. More than 95% dark bold original case colors remain. The barrels retain more than 95% original blue as does the trigger guard and the forend iron. The stocks are sound (rare for an LC!) and retain nearly all of their original finish with only minor handling marks. The original buttplate is excellent. The original polish marks on the breech ends of the barrels remain - the quality of this gun cannot be overstated!

This is easily the nicest and cleanest 20ga Crown Grade I've ever seen. If you want a cream puff of an LC - look no further. Here it is. Priced right at $SOLD plus shipping to your FFL.
