Description:
This carbine is serial number 17111. It has a excellent bore with strong rifling. It functions perfectly. Has faded case color on the receiver and patchbox. I would not be afraid of shooting it today. Stock is very solid but no cartouche remains. The weapon was designed by Mahlon J. Gallager, who licensed the design to Richardson and Overman of Philadelphia for production. A total of 17,782 were sold to the U.S. Army during the Civil War. Three day inspection privelege. Postage $30
