Made Circa 1900 with Mother of Pearl Grips
Here we present an Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Top Break Safety Automatic Double Action Revolver in .38 S&W, made circa 1900 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. The production run for this revolver was 1897 through 1908. Iver Johnson was a U.S. firearms, bicycle, and motorcycle manufacturer from 1871 to 1993. The company shared the same name as its founder, Norwegian-born Iver Johnson (1841–1895). Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The revolver was a small, sturdy, well-built self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the closing decades of the tumultuous 19th Century continuing on into the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties.
This one features a trigger safety inside the primary trigger, a particular feature that we associate with striker fired handguns today that was used about 100 years ago!
The overall condition is very fine. 99% of the original nickel finish remains. Case colors are blue accents are likewise strong. The mother of pearl grips are in fine shape. The bore is bright and sharp. The action is excellent.
