Here we present an Iver Johnson Double Action Top Break Revolver in .32 S&W, made circa the early 20th Century in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense in the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties.
This revolver is chambered for 5 shots of .32 S&W. The action works in both double and single action. The top of the barrel is marked “IVER JOHNSON ARMS & CYCLE WORKS/FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A.” The grips are marked with the company initials and an owl’s face on either side.
The overall condition is fair. 70% of the original nickel finish remains. The markings are clear. The trademarked hard rubber grips are a bit chipped and cracked. The bore is dark. The action is not functional.
