Description:
PRAIRIE 1 & PRAIRIE 2 Beautiful, powerful , and functional, these are real hunting knives also recognized as a true Huntsman's weapon. Tanazacq designed them for those hunters as he is more likely to understand the mindset of such people who buy and use such specialized blades. Known as a " Couteau De Venerie," or hunting dagger and as we called them here in the US, "Pig Sticker.". This model comes in two blade lengths 8-5/8" for the PRAIRIE 1 and 7-1/8" for its companion. Both knives are constructed and fitted with a combination of leather washers/micarta or can be had with micarta only, made from 440C stock with a mirror polished blades. The solid brass pommel has two opening to tie up security laces, while both knives comes with a double brass guard for hand protection. Can also be had with a stag-handle if desired. The shown model is the PRAIRIE 1. (See pictures # 2 left, picture # 1 top, picture # 3 left, picture # 6 top). Stunning knife as you'll not see anything like it in the U.S.! Contained in a very beautiful extra heavy-duty leather scabbard.
TRONCAY 2 Tanazcaq's TRONCAY 2 differs from the TRONCAY I, only by the shape at the tip which is convex as to present a clear path that opens an animal to the return. Being right behind the TRONCAY I , it is the most produced knife recognized as being of universal use for skinning small and big game and general hunting purposes. Strong, neither too long or too short, it requires a little more fingering at the time of opening, thus avoiding to pierce the viscera because of its engaging trajectory. With the same characteristics as seen on the TRONCAY I, it possesses the famous curved counter-cutting or false edge which is concave in its final shape, immortalized by Jim Bowie, being more penetrating but more fragile than the lanceolate tip seen on the TRONCAY I. All models from the TRONCAY's family have a hidden tang, the same handle shape, a solid brass guard and butt cap. As one might surmise, it is a variation of the TRONCAY I, but it's difficult to surpass the original. Contained in a very beautiful handcrafted leather scabbard as are all models made by this amazing maker.
