Description:
Presentation battlefield sword. Presented to WM. H. Reynolds. 78th N.Y.  Infantry  This sword has seen service during his whole service in the army. Battle served-Harpers Ferry, Cedar Mountain, Antietam, Chancellorsville with 78th. Then in 1863 he served with the 14th Artillery. He was captured by the enemy in Petersburg VA. Months later he escaped while prisoner of was in Columbia South Carolina. The 14th saw action at Spotsylvania Court House, Wilderness, Cold Harbor, and around Petersburg. He was made Brevet Colonel in 1865 and was cited for “gallant and meritorious” arrives to date March 13, 1865. COMES WITH DOCUMENTATION
