100% Original M1842 dated 1849, on lock on barrel and on tang.
All markings are great and clear. All inspectors markings are fantastic .
The stock (Wood) has no repairs brakes or chips and appears to be the original finish.
lt truly has no problems or issues of any kind.

the macanics are spot on and if it was cleaned it had to be over 100 years ago .

This madel was largely used in the
Great War between the states (civil war) and were used by both the North and the South and many users were confederate troops for sure.
