Description: ***SOLD*** US Springfield Model 1884 Cadet (2nd type) .45-70 Gov't trapdoor rifle with bayonet. The rifle has a 29.5" barrel with an nice, brilliant bore for its age, bright, shiny with good sharp rifling and only very minor pitting towards the muzzle. The stock has two barrel bands and is in very good condition with no cracks or splits, with some handling marks and minor dings and dents. The stamped cartouche is visible but has faded somewhat. All other markings are very visible. This version was manufactured between 1888-1893, and this rifle is dated back to 1893, and is one of the very last Trapdoor rifles ever built. Includes a correct bayonet with US markings. Please refer to the photos to further assess the condition of the rifle.
