Description:
This is a very handsome early-production Winchester M1 Carbine from World War 2 with one of the sought-after "spring tube" receivers.  Manufactured in late 1942 during the first production run by Winchester starting with serial number 1,000,000, this M1 Carbine is serial number 1,020,267.  It was re-worked at some point during WW2 or prior to Korea in the U.S. Military's arsenal system, but retains all-original WW2 production parts made by various contractors.  As you can see from the pictures, this Winchester carbine is really a beautiful specimen.  The parkerized finish on all of the metal parts is a very attractive dark tone with only minor wear and handling marks showing in the typical spots where you would expect to see it.  There are no eyesores or abnormally worn areas, everything is consistent and looks like it has been together since the 1940's or 50's.  The U.S. arsenal replacement Marlin barrel is in superb condition with a mirror-bright bore with no pitting, erosion, or visible imperfections.  The exterior finish on the barrel is excellent, and has never had a Type 3 barrel band on it (bayonet lug type).  The stock on this Winchester carbine is a very attractive original WW2 U.S.G.I. stock.  It has been lightly sanded so there is no way for us to know what company made it, but it is 100% solid with no cracks, chips, or major damage.  The Walnut is a beautiful red-brown color with very nice contrasting grain in it.  All of the stock hardware is U.S.G.I. and is in excellent condition.  The handguard on this Winchester is a nice match to the stock although just slightly lighter in color.  The handguard is stamped with an "I O" for Inland production and remains in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, or repairs.  This Winchester M1 Carbine is in perfect working order and should shoot just as reliably and accurately today as the day it left the factory.  It comes with one WW2-production "U" stamped 15-round magazine in excellent condition, and a U.S.G.I.sling and oiler.  This M1 Carbine would be the perfect choice for someone who wants an attractive but affordable Winchester M1 Carbine that they can enjoy as both an investment and as a shooter.
