Here we present an Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Safety Automatic Double Action Revolver in .22 Rimfire, made circa 1900 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson was a U.S. firearms, bicycle, and motorcycle manufacturer from 1871 to 1993. The company shared the same name as its founder, Norwegian-born Iver Johnson (1841–1895). Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The revolver was a small, sturdy, well-built self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the closing decades of the tumultuous 19th Century continuing on into the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties.
The overall condition is very good. 85% of the original nickel finish remains. The markings are clear. The trademarked hard rubber grips are in great shape. The bore is in good condition with good rifling. The action is excellent. Here is a really neat little .22, 7-shot revolver from Iver Johnson!
