This Winchester was produced in 1965. The serial number is 163918. It is one of the last of the model 42's produced. This gun was sent to Simmons Gun Specialties in the "White", meaning unfinished. Simmons Installed the Rib, Stock And Forend And blued this shotgun. This is Not A Reblue. This shotgun is choked Skeet with a 26 inch barrel. The wood is Skeet grade pistol gripped style stock and beaver tail forend. This gun is in near new condition as finished by Simmons. The shotgun shows very little use or being fired. The bluing would rate a 98% or better overall condition. The stock and forend have no damage or other issues. The pistol cap has the silver cap that is engraved. The wood retain the original finish. The butt plate is a Winchester Butt Plate with the Winchester logo in the center. This is a very unusual Skeet gun as made by Winchester and finished by Simmons. Simmons Gun Specialties purchased some of the last remaining unfinished Model 42's from Winchester and finished these guns themselves. This is a very nice Skeet gun that handles great and will be an asset to shooting in the field as well as being a collector grade shotgun. Having a unusual history and being one of the last Model 42's certainly brings this gun out of the ordinary! Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
