Manufactured from 2006 to 2015, the Ruger Model 77 Hawkeye line of rifles is one of the finest Model 77 variations that Ruger ever made in our opinion. These feature-loaded rifles quickly earned a reputation for being just as reliable and deadly accurate as they were attractive. This particular example was made in the 2nd year of production in 2007 and features the famous Model 77 receiver with integral optics bases, a factory high-gloss blue finish on all of the metal, a Mauser-style full-length extractor, a controlled round feed action, a 22" inch barrel with no iron sights, a 3-position bolt-mounted safety, an internal 4-round magazine with a hinged floorplate, the Ruger logo engraved on the floorplate, and a beautiful checkered American Walnut stock with factory-installed sling swivel studs and a Ruger-branded recoil pad. This rifle has been very well cared for since leaving the factory and shot very little. The factory gloss blue finish rates 98 to 99% like-new on ALL on of the metal parts, and the bore in the 22" inch barrel is mirror-bright and perfect. The rifling still looks brand-new with sharp lands and grooves, and there are zero visible imperfections. The factory stock on this rifle is particularly attractive and in excellent condition, with lots of beautiful figure and grain visible and sharp, clean checkering on the forearm and wrist. The wood is completely free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/handling marks. It looks like-new and only under the closest inspection can you find a few tiny handling/storage marks in the wood. The factory installed hardware including the sling swivel studs and recoil pad are in excellent condition and expertly fit to the rifle. The length of pull is 13.75" inches to the end of the pad. The action on this Hawkeye rifle is slick and precise, and the bolt turns into battery smoothly with no slop. All of the controls on this rifle are in perfect working order, just like the day it left the factory. The 7mm-08 chambering of this Model 77 Hawkeye is one of our favorites, it is ideal for Whitetail Deer and other big game. The 7mm-08 cartridge is very accurate and powerful while not being a hard-kicking round, making it the perfect choice for young shooters or recoil sensitive hunters. 7mm-08 ammunition is widely available and affordable, and it is offered in many different weights and bullet designs by multiple manufacturers to tailor the cartridge to the exact game you are targeting. This Ruger comes with a set of factory 1" inch rings already mounted-up, all it needs is a scope for it to be ready to take to the range or woods.
