Absolutely beautiful E.J. Johnston example of his Confederate foot artillery sword.
It is everything it should be ! There is no question as to it being authentic, it has been checked out by some of the most reliable confederate experts even by one of the authenticators and appraisers for the antique roadshow.
It is sold with paperwork. There were two sword makers in Macon GA. This one and W.J. McElroy
the two made very simular swords each copying from each other as they were doing this for the cofedersey. I will be listening a Bowie made by McElroy.
the handle is correct as is the blade also being correct. The handle has never been cleaned, the blade is correct and shows it honest age and ware, there is no fuller on Johnstons foot artillery sword blades. Please rest assured that you are getting a true and correct Confederate sword !
