Description:
Civil War era Enfield Tower 3 band rifle .577 caliber. Overall good condition. Bore has some light pitting, but is fully servicable. The gun is missing the hammer screw and foreward lock screw.The wood is sound with no cracks and in surprisingly good condition for a gun of this age. The outside metal shows signs of neglect with some pitting, especially in the nipple area. It has the original ramrod and is will be fully functional when the proper screws have been replaced. The metal appears to have been painted black. A much better option than beeing sanded by some one that has not a clue as to how to restore an antique arm. These guns were used by both side during the Civil War.
