Description:
SOLD Pending Funds / British Ketland Flintlock Holster Pistol, cal. 59, has a 9 1/4" round barrel with an oxidized bore. The metal surfaces show evidence of an old cleaning and have toned mostly to gunmetal gray patina showing remnants of old pitting and scattered small dings. This pistol has been reconverted to flintlock, the barrel is unmarked saved for British proofs on the left side and a few screws are replacements. The lock is marked "W. KETLAND / & Co" and features a bridled frizzen and lightly chiseled frizzen spring. The brass hardware is rather plain and includes a single ramrod thimble with tailpipe, triggerguard, buttcap, un-engraved monogram plate and curved sideplate. The smooth walnut stock remains in good condition as cleaned and refinished and a few well concealed repairs. A simple hickory ramrod is present and the lock functions loosely. The overall condition as described and photographed is good – good plus. Inv. : # 12-151
