Clean and attractiveearly 1900's Remington Number 4 Rolling Block Take-Down rifle in .22 rimfire. This rifle appears to be original and in good condition except for the bore, which has been re-lined and is in excellent condition. The 21 and 7/8ths inch barrel shows a lot of original blue finish and is fitted with iron sights. The rear sight appears to be original while the front blade looks to be a replacement. The original case colored receiver shows some very light color, particularly in the protected areas. The Walnut forearm and buttstock are original, attractive, and in good condition overall. The wrist does have an old repaired crack in it that has been repaired with two hidden threaded rods inserted from the inside of the tang relief cut. Whomever did the repair did an excellent job and it is rock solid, it won't open or move even with twisting torque applied to it. The original buttplate is still intact and in good condition. The take-down feature on this little rifle is superb, coming apart into two halves with the turn of the receiver-mounted lever. This rifle locks together perfectly with no wiggle or slop and comes apart easily as-designed. The action on this Remington is in perfect working order, and we have no doubt with the re-lined barrel this rifle will shoot as well today as it did over 100 years ago. If you have been looking for something unique to add to your collection this Remington Number 4 Rolling Block Take-down model would be an excellent choice. Rarely do we see these in such nice condition and in working order like this one.
