A very rare Winchester model 53 takedown in 44-40.Built in 1925,this rifle is in excellent all original condition.It retains 90% of the original blue and wood finish and has not been altered in any way.The bore is mint with sharp rifling.The wood is sound with no cracks or damage.Out of the total production of model 53 rifles,only 3200 were in 44-40.Of that number, fewer than 1000 had the takedown option. this is an extremely hard to find configuration.If you like to shoot your collectibles,this one is very accurate and has an exceptionally nice trigger.A fun gun to shoot and collect.C&R eligible.
