Antique Hopkins & Allen BLUE JACKET No. 1 Revolver
Nicely ENGRAVED with PEARL GRIPS!
Here we present an antique Factory Engraved Hopkins & Allen “BLUE JACKET No. 1” Spur Trigger Revolver, made circa the 1871-79. These pocket-sized revolvers and many like them were made by various companies such that the price easily undercut better known and established companies like Colt. As a result, many of Colt’s similar lines were shut down for their inability to compete. During a time when many, if not most people carried a firearm, these affordable little revolvers were small enough to conceal and carry, yet provide some level of protection or peace of mind, even when the town did not allow firearms within its limits. Hopkins & Allen used two different patent dates on this model, Mar. 28, 1871 and May 27, 1879. This revolver has the earlier Patent date, making it manufactured between 1871 and 1879.
The overall condition is fine. 90% of the nickel finish remains. The markings and engravings are clear. The mother of pearl grips are in fantastic shape. The bore is in very good condition with nice rifling. The action is strong. Here is a very nice looking little .22 revolver for your collection!
