Description:
Inv. 7106
London Pistol Comp. (Div. of Manhattan Firearms) Cal. 31, 5" barrel. Ser 112.

A really rare Civil War "Attic Princess". This is a real find for the Civil War collector. Manhattan was the 4th largest producer of guns during the Civil War era producing about 175,000 guns from 1858 to 1876. This is an outstanding example of the little known model. The guns were Manhattan made if there was a mistake in the engraving or a surface blemish they were sold as The London Pistol.  Firearms historians Waldo Nutter and Sam E.Smith in their books concur that less than 36 are known to exist.

This gun appears to delivered in the white and after a very careful examination there was no sign of bluing anywhere. The gun is covered with a lovely soft silver gray patina. The are not rust patches rub, marks or scratches. The frame is beautifully scroll engraved and the cylinder has a fully legible stage coach hold up scene. The barrel, cylinder, frame and barrel wedge all match.

The wooden grips have retained about 90% of the original lacquer. There are no splits cracks or dings anywhere on them. The grip screw does have a couple of very tiny nicks. The gun locks up tight, indexes and functions properly. The force cone, cylinder face and nipples show no evidence that the gun has seen much use. The bore does have some aged frosting but the rifling is still sharp and quite evident.

For the collector or investor having this litte known model from a prolific producer is a wonderful find. And as usual we guarantee you will be pleased with your purchase.......SHIPPED........$1595....OBO
