Description:
SOLD Pending Funds / European Percussion Cavalry Pistol, possibly French, cal. 76, with 7 3/4'' tapered barrel and a oxidized bore. The barrel, tangs and lock are a dark gray patina with pinprick oxidation, handling marks and scattered freckling. The brass furniture is a mostly ochre patina with some pinprick blemishes and handling marks. The smooth dark walnut stock is about good – good plus, there are handling marks and evidence of cleaning. The number ''779'' is stamped on the left-side above the trigger. There’s a crack that goes all the way through the wood at the butt, it is tightly held in place by the buttcap and bottom tang. The lock function is crisp and the metal ramrod is present. The overall condition as described and photographed is good – good plus. Inv. : # 12-152
