Description:
This is as nice a one of these scarce pistols as we have seen in a long time.  This is an all-original and complete .380 ACP caliber (9mm Kurz) Astra Model 300 pistol rig with an original extra magazine and holster with an original Deaths Head pin attached to the top flap.  These were made under contract for the German Army during WW2 between 1941 and 1944, and they were actually delivered to the Germans in France during the occupation rather than Germany itself.  This particular example is serial number 577780, making it's date of manufacture in May or June of 1943.  This Astra has the German Military Waffenamt located at the right rear of the frame, an "Eagle WaA251".  The original factory finish is excellent overall rating 98%, with only some very tiny handling marks visible only under close inspection.  All of the factory stampings are crisp and clean, and all of the numbered parts are matching.  The bore is excellent and mirror-bright, with sharp rifling and no visible pitting, erosion, or imperfections.  The original full-checkered Walnut grips are in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, wear, or repairs.  Both sides are perfectly fit to the pistol and tight with no wiggle.  All of the controls on this Astra are in perfect working order, and the slide to frame fit is superb.  When worked by hand the action is slick and precise.  This Astra 300 comes with 2 original magazines and a really cool original holster, all of which are in great condition.  The original holster has the original German solider's name written inside it (we assume), the belt loop has the proper Waffenamt, and the top flap has an original German Death's Head pin attached to it.  Whether the Death's Head pin is for a panzer unit (tanker) or SS unit there is no way to know for sure, but it certainly has been on this holster since the war, whether the German added it or the American G.I. added it.  It is an early variation of the Death's Head pin, and it is definitely original.  The leather in this original holster is still soft and flexible, the original stitching is still fully intact and tight, and the metal stud for the closure strap is in excellent condition.  As you can see from the pictures, the holster is a very nice original brown color that is uniform throughout the holster.  All in all, this is an amazing all-original Nazi contract Astra 300 rig that would be an excellent addition to any WW2 weapons collection and a superb investment piece.
