Description:
The Remington Model 7400 is a gas-operated semi-automatic rifle made by the firm from 1981 to 2005. It is a proven low-recoil design that is both accurate and reliable. This particular Model 7400 was made in 1988 and is in very good all-original condition. It is a very lightly used rifle, as most all of the rifles from this estate are, with most of the handling marks and wear a result of overcrowded safe storage and a humid environment. This Remington features a gloss blue factory finish, a 22" inch barrel with factory iron sights, a 4-shot detachable box magazine, and a checkered Walnut stock set with a gloss finish, black forend tip and pistol grip cap, and a black factory buttplate. As mentioned earlier, the original finish shows some minor handling marks and spots of prior surface rust but is still very attractive overall. As you can see from the pictures, there are no eyesores or major marring. The bore is mirror-bright and like-new, with sharp rifling and no pitting or imperfections. The original stock set is very attractive on this Remington, with only minor storage/handling marks in the wood. Both the forearm and buttstock are free from any cracks, major damage, or repairs. All of the original factory stock hardware is intact and in good shape, including the sling swivel studs. This Remington 7400 is in perfect working order with a slick and precise action and crisp controls. It should perform flawlessly like the day it left the factory. This Remington comes with a Burris 1-piece base and 1" inch rings already mounted up on the receiver. All it lack is a scope and it will be ready for the woods or range. The .30-06 Springfield chambering makes it a very versatile rifle capable of taking just about any game in North America. Ammunition is generally inexpensive and there is an enormous variety of factory loads available to tailor the ammunition to the exact shooting you are doing. If you have been looking for an inexpensive but high-performance hunting rifle that you can carry afield without worrying about scratches and damage this Model 7400 would be a perfect choice.
