Description:
Very fine conditioned, 12 ga. Stephen Grant rebounding hammergun. Side lever. Damascus barrels. Exquisite wood stock. 2 1/2 inch chambers with forcing cones opened, still in proof as per the London Proof House. Provenance search revealed that the firearm was made in 1876 for Lord Inchiquin, the titular head of the O'Brien clan. A Lord Inchiquin still sits in the House of Lords. Trigger weights are 4 pounds right and 4 1/2 pounds left. There is one tiny pit in the  the left barrel. I consulted several gunsmiths who didn't feel it was an issue and recommened I continue to shoot it. I have taken this gun to Scotland twice and had good luck shooting driven pheasants, but of course didn't go after the very high fliers.
