Description:
#242208, Parker with the Rare 1/2 Frame in a 12 Bore Model DHE Made in 1941 with 28" Ejector Barrels on a Properly Marked "1/2" Frame, This frame size puts the gun in your hands at 6 lbs. 10 oz., This Parker went to Abercrombie & Fitch in 1941 and sold to John S. Ford but he returned it to A&F and they put it back into their new gun inventory, Then in June of 1942 it was sold to H. S. Drinker Jr.; Then in 2007 the Parker guru, Mr. Larry Del Grego, did a total re-do with a refinish in oil, re-cut checkering, a strip & clean, tightened it and tested it, There is about 70-80 known Parker 12 bore 1/2 frame guns all with serial numbers above #240155; The 1/2 frame has 1 1/16" width between the striker holes and 2 3/16" width at the standing breech, This gun is exactly to those specs according to Remington's records, The barrels at .729 .000 & .014" (Cyl. & Open Mod.), 2 3/4" chambers, Wall thickness on the right and left at .028", The barrel flats are marked Mod. & Full but in 1942 at A&F they were recorded as Imp.Cyl. & Mod., Double triggers, Splinter forend, Capped pistol grip stock with the proper "Ilion, N.Y." address, Checkered side panels with their teardrop, 14 3/8 x 1 1/2 x 2 3/8" over a full face checkered butt, Nice cast-off for the right hand, The proper 12 bore "1/2" frame weight of 6 lbs. 10 oz., These later Parker's have totally better engraving than all the earlier pieces with cartoon engraving, Compare the dogs and the Pheasant's to the early ones, The barrels retain 92% blue, It has 25% original case colors, The wood is super sound fore & aft and remains at 96% since the touch of Del Grego, The checkering remains at 99%, The bores are excellent plus and remain bright & shiny. It is cased in a new leather cornered leather trunk. This is rare stuff in the field of Parker's and comes out lighter in weight than an "O" frame 20 bore; a true 12 bore on a 20 bore frame.
