Description:
Colt 1905 45acp serial 3026- the first 45 auto mfg by Colt. Only 6000 of these 1905's were produced - RARE- and will fit into any Colt auto collection. This 5" barrel, blued is in nice original functioning condition. Colt letter included, shipped to Golcher Bros. San Francisco CA on July 1, 1908. Also listed in Goddard's book on page 224. This pistol was probably shipped with serial number 2919.
Per John Potocki's book The Colt 1905 Automatic Pistol this has the "C" type slide marking: Patented Apr 20, 1897 Sept 9, 1902 Dec 19, 1905 Colt's Patent Fire Arms Mfg Co Hartford Conn USA . Also has the rampant Colt circled. VP, 6, E, and 1 markings all of which are deep and legible. Checkered original diamond grips - noted one has a longitidinal crack starting at the bottom.
