Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: This is a nice original World War 2 G.I. "trophy" Japanese Type 14 Nambu pistol that is all-matching including the magazine except for the rear cocking piece. This Nambu has not been altered or "improved" in any way and comes straight from the veteran's extended family. This particular gun was built in September of 1941 under supervision of the Nagoya firm at the Chuo Kogyo factory located in Kokubunji (a suburb of Tokyo), Japan. It retains more than 90% of the original factory blue finish, showing some finish wear and spots of corrosion typical of a holster-carried and combat-used pistol. The bore in this Nambu is very good, with nice rifling throughout and just a touch of frosting in the grooves. This Type 14 should still be an excellent shooter if the new owner so chooses. The original yellow "straw" finish on the trigger, safety lever, magazine release, and mag retention spring has mostly faded to gray, but there are traces of color in some of the protected areas. The original grips show consistent wear with the rest of the gun with some dings, dents, and oil staining, but both sides are solid. As mentioned before, all of the numbered parts including the magazine on this Nambu match except for the cocking knob. It is very likely that the cocking knob was mismatched when it was captured during the war. The cocking knob looks like it has been on this pistol for a very long time and the finish wear is a perfect match to the rest of the gun. The Japanese soldier that carried this pistol probably lost the original piece while cleaning it in the field and had to get a replacement from the unit armorer. The original matching magazine in this gun is in very good condition. It retains 95% of the plating, the serial number and factory stampings are clear and crisp, the metal floorplate is in great shape and tight to the mag body, and the spring pressure is excellent on the follower. All of the controls on this Type 14 Nambu are in perfect working order. The action is smooth and precise when worked by hand and the recoil spings are stout; the bolt slams into battery with authority. We have no doubt that this Nambu would shoot just as reliably today as when it was originally issued. If you have been looking for a nice combat-used example of the famous WW2 Japanese Nambu for your collection here is your chance. This 1941 example is still good looking enough to display, but shows enough wear that you could shoot it at the range or farm without feeling guilty.
