Description:
***SOLD*** US Remington 03A3 .30-06 bolt action military rifle, dated to 1944. Remington, along with Smith-Corona, manufactured these Model 03A3 rifles for the US Military during WWII. They were made with some stamped parts, to create cost-effective, faster production. This particular rifle has had some professional modifications performed to make it more practical for the modern shooter. The stock appears to have been finished in a sort of gloss varnish, some ordnance and other markings are visible, some are not, however it is very nicely refinished with a semi-gloss, and the nice walnut grain is fully visible. The hardware still has most of its original parkerized finish, with some wear, but no major blemishes. The front sight has been professionally replaced with a Lyman globe sight, which pairs nicely with the aperture rear sight, making this rifle much more capable for target shooting. Functionally, the rifle is excellent, with a smooth, tight action and a great bore with minimal wear and plenty of life left. This rifle would an excellent shooter, and it looks great as well!
