Having built many AR-15s of my own I am intimately familiar with the basic platform and I was intrigued by Tippmann's approach to a rimfire AR as it was completely different than other .22LR versions of the AR that have been available up to this point. Unlike other rimfire ARs that are simply a faux body with an isolated conventional .22 firing system, the M4-22 has a fully-cycling buffer and spring located in the rear buffer tube just like standard caliber AR-15s.
