Sold! #91371 , Francotte SLE 375 H&H belted magnum.
Made in 1977, a best rifle put together by the best craftsmen . 24 ¾” chopper lump barrels from the Magi shop , with excellent plus bores and chambers , large blade type extractors for a guaranteed extraction/ejection of the rimless case. ¼ rib with claw mount bases , and a single standing express rear sight. Bolstered frame with back action locks of the H&H seven pins type.
Purdey flat bolt plus third fastener on rib extention. Bushed firing pins with venting screws, manual safety , articulated front trigger, over the comb long top tang. 90% coverage tight scoll engraving and gold inlays of a rhino and lion heads, signed by the late Philippe Grifnee. Long trigger guard tang to a trap door engraved steel grip cap with a spare front sight. Inside and out in perfect condition.
The rifle weight is 9 Lbs.4 Oz . Dark French walnut stock, with a shadow line cheeck piece, LOP is 15” over a 1 “ leather covered pad. Forend is a splinter type with a lever release and Southgate ejectors.
Wood finish and checkering are in 90% original condition . I believe the wood work to have been done by Marcel Thys.
With Hornady 300gr the rifle shoots 2 ¼” groups at 55 yards , and by experience I think a scope mounted on it will bring it even closer. An elegant rifle engraved by one of the great masters.
