Berliner Lubecker G-43 8mm, Ser. 98XX g,
A fine well above average gun. The remaining original finish is about 80-85%. The bulk of it is on the rough cast receiver which has trouble holding the finish and the barrel where it has flaked off. The gun is surprisingly free of rust pitting, scratches and rub marks.The proper receiver and bolt marks are shown in the pics. The dust cover usually missing is present. The black lacquer trigger guard does has some scattered paint loss. All numbers match.
The laminated stock while basically in really super condition does have a minor flaw. The heel of the comb appears to have a small area rubbed or chipped away This does not affect the function of the gun. The trapdoor butt plate is correct for the gun. The bolt carrier, bolt rails, and feed ramp show little use. The bore is mirror bright with razor sharp rifling. There is a just a touch of light scattered frost.
It comes with the correct cleaning rod, sight cover and one magazine stamped 'aye", Eagle/WaA843, K98. A beautiful example of Hitler's Garand that would enhance any collection and be a real blast at the range. As usual we guarantee you will be pleased with your purchase....SHIPPED.....$3195
