Sale pending !!!! #6217 Boucher St Etiennne 12 Ga 2 ¾”
Made in St Etienne France in the mid 1980’s . 27 5/8” barrels made by Jean Breuil with fitted lumps , mirror polished inside and out and ringing like a bell. 2 ¾” chambers in perfect condition
Bores measure .727 with .020” .036” constriction making them Mod and Full. Wall thickness is .025” and .026” Blacking is in 95% original condition.
Helico action with Purdey flat bolt and screwgrip third fastener on rib extension, with also an interesting and pronounced scalloping of the action back. 60% coverage of roses and scrolls engraving and 50% of the original case hardening color remaining. Manual safety , double trigger , long trigger guard , weight is 6Lbs. 2 Oz . Jointing is tight , clean trigger pulls at 4 ½ Lbs, strong ejectors well timed.
Well figured French walnut stock , LOP is 14 7/8” over a 1 1/8” leather cover pad. Drop is 1 9/16” and 2 3/8” 1 /16”cast off. Gun balances at the hinge pin. Splinter forend with Anson push button release , finish and checkering are in 95% of original condition with light handling marks.
A nice example of a St Etienne handmade game gun.
