CIVIL WAR COLT MODEL 1851 NAVY REVOLVER SHIPPED 1861 WITH COLT FACTORY LETTER. .36 cal. with 7 ½” barrel with excellent barrel address stamp. Original and matching except the wedge (original and close number). Numbered in the 114xxx serial range within the quite limited Model 1851 serial range of revolvers which have the factory has records of and will letter. Letter states it was shipped in a 100 gun shipment from the factory on Oct. 16, 1861 to J. P. Moores Sons in New York City. Metal with nice grey patina and very crisp markings. Nice “COLTS/PATENT” stamp on frame. Excellent original factory walnut grips. Perfect working order and excellent bore and chambers. Reasonably priced original early Civil War Colt Navy.
