This is a beautiful Colt 2nd Model Dragoon; Serial No. 9838; Made in 1851; It has all matching numbers except un-numbered wedge; Honest Brown Patina Revolver; Original Holster fits like a glove; “J H S 1866” Punch Dotted on backstrap; As per previous owner Verbal provenance is Identified by Mike Hesket as belonging to Confederate J.H. Salmon of Co. D 9th Texas Infantry; He was from Dangerfield (Titus County), Texas; He was at Meridian, MS. May 4, 1865 & was Surrendered by Lt. Gen. R. Taylor & was paroled May 11, 1865. Action works great and grips are excellent also. Most of these are beat up. I am not charging for the Confederate IDd soldier tied to this gun. Really not charging for the holster either. $5500 for everything out the door to include the paper work on the soldier!!!
