Description:
Here is one of the great guns of the 20th century . German Ortgies 32 ACP . Made in the early 1920's by German craftsman who worked in the German munitions plants , building small arms during WWI . After the war the German Government needed to put these men to work and started , Deutsche Werke . These were the same men who were building Lugers , Mauser Rifles and other small arms , before and during WWI. The Ortgies design was simple , reliable and unique in construction . Issued to Police and Troops in WWII , due to shortage of small pistols. It was used by German Target shooters in matches after the first world war . The 9MM having been outlawed by the Treaty of Versailles . This small pistol won many Championships due to it's inherent accuarcy . The Allies even tried to stop production of the Ortgies and hence a lot of these pistols were marked Germany and exported . The barrel can be removed from the frame for cleaning and due to complex machining , attaches to frame as if a fixed barrel pistol . The gun for sale is in 99% condition , slight thinning of blue on front grip strap . Bore is excellent . Grips are tight and excellent shape . Correct clip with gun . This is a gun suitable for a collection , and a must have if one collects German pre war pistols . To nice to shoot or carry . Sales only where allowed . No sales to Calif. or NYC .
