Description:
Very seldom seen 1893 Marlin Saddle Ring Carbine in 32-40. Serial number 432,869 Blued receiver and black powder barrel. 20” barrel and full magazine retain 50% original blue with the remainder a brown patina. Very nice bore. Missing rear sight and screws for the top of receiver. Receiver retains a fair amount of blue on both sides with the balance a brown / gray patina. Great markings. Both the forend and buttstock are in nice condition. The wrist area of buttstock has two holes in it for what purpose, I’m not sure. The buttstock is super solid no wobble so I’m not sure what the holes are for. There is a tiny hairline crack coming off the upper tang (see pic), not big enough to make a difference. All numbers match: frame, upper tang, buttstock, and buttplate. All in all a very difficult Saddle Ring to find, especially in a great caliber 32-40. Must ship to a FFL or Curio and Relics license holder. This firearm as with any other should be checked first by a gunsmith before any attempt is made to fire / operate it.
